With unemployment on the rise and more candidates going for the few jobs available, job-seekers will need every edge they can get when it comes to interview time.
But how do you carefully skirt the holes in your experience, shrug off the fact your qualifications aren’t exactly right or handle those tough interview questions?
Simple – you use little-known Mind Control techniques!

your interviewer from their fixed position to a more useful frame where they can see the benefits of employing you.”
Let us now look at a typical pattern Rintu shares in his book and how you can quickly start using it to deal with those difficult interview situations…
PART 1: GIVE AGREEMENT TO GET AGREEMENT
The start of this pattern is an ‘agreement frame’. Whatever anyone says you can find something to agree with, even if what you are doing is just agreeing with the fact that they made the statement. This has the effect of disarming and
opening people up to what YOU have to say. A very important factor is using the word “and” to connect to the next part of the pattern.
So this is as simple as: “I agree that (insert the thing you agree with) and…”
Here are two examples:
- “I agree I only have a small amount of sales experience and…”
- “I agree I have never managed a team as large as this and…”
PART 2: TURN OBJECTIONS ON THEIR HEAD
The second part of the pattern is to move the interviewer from their objection to a resolution. This is a simple formula
that is easily stated as “the issue isn’t (x) but (y)” where (x) is what they said and (y) is what you want them to talk about. Let’s look at a couple of examples:
- “The issue is not my experience but the fact that I have created spectacular results despite having very little experience.”
- “The issue is not the size of the team but the fact I have proven experience of turning teams poor performance into high performing teams.”
PART 3: ASK A QUESTION TO SEAL THE DEAL
The last step is to get the interviewer quickly into talking about the benefits of employing you. This generally works
best when you can turn it into a question. The second and third steps are calculated to move the interviewer from their fixed position to considering new information. Here are some examples:
- “Would you like me to talk you through the way I was consistently over achieving on my targets despite only having three months sales experience.”
- “Do you want me to explain how I can move a team to high performance in a matter of days?”
Obviously you have prepared areas you want to talk about before the interview and this process gives you the opportunity to move the interview specifically to those things you want to discuss.
Rintu says, “This simple three step process can allow you to completely redirect the focus of your interviewer into a more productive channel.”
