FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Murcia and Alicante have seen huge growth in the golf industry over the last 10 years and French Production Company, ‘Les Films D’ICI’ will be reviewing the huge impact that this growth has had on these two neighbouring regions of Spain.
One of the local experts being interviewed as part of this ‘golfumentary’ is Torrevieja-based golf-columnist, coach and author Michael Probert who wrote a book earlier this year entitled, ‘The Golfing Guide to Murcia’.
Michael says, “Some 20 years ago there were only 3 golf course in total but the golf craze has resulted with 16 courses in Murcia and 18 in Alicante with significantly more currently under construction.”
Michael Probert is considered by many to be a local expert in the golf industry in the area and has been asked to take a pivotal role in the filming of the documentary which begins in September.
There will be many topics raised during the filmed interviews and these will include:
- golf course pricing strategies
- the impact of the current world financial crisis on residents, tourists and golfers alike
- golf course reviews and the best courses
- plus what differences golfers find in playing golf here in Spain in comparison with their home country
The film itself is not just a commercial advertising film but a detailed documentary outlining the phenomenal impact of golf (both negative and positive) in the area.

PRAISE FOR THE BOOK
“I always read Mike’s articles in the local newspapers and magazines and he has always been a difficult and knowledgeable opponent in our league matches and it is for these reasons that we approached him to be our official press officer for the Murcian Matchplay league and I believe that this book will be invaluable to both tourists and residents alike.”
- Alex Mclennan, Secretary, Murcian Matchplay League
“Mike Probert has written for the Leader Newspaper for 3-4 years on a number of sport and golf related subjects during which time I have always found his articles to be well researched and informed. He has simplicity of style which makes him extremely popular amongst our readers. His articles always have something useful to say. I believe that if he embarks on a book aimed at people wishing to visit and play golf in the Murcian region it will quickly be become a comprehensive guide and a ‘must have’ volume for anyone visiting the area.”
- Kevin Reardon, Sports Editor, ‘The Leader Newspaper’
“Mike Probert has been a regular columnist and contributor to our magazine for 2 years and his articles are always well received by our readers who I am sure will find the golfing guide to Murcia as equally interesting and informative as the articles that he has supplied to the magazine.”
- Richard Pickering, Editor, ‘The Inland Magazine’
“Mike has been exclusively involved with www.murcia- golf.co.uk for a couple of years now providing invaluable input which has enabled us to develop the site to its full potential. He has provided well thought out and well written material on not only the game of golf but also commentaries on intelligent strategies for golfers to think about when playing and he has covered this by aiming his editorials at both beginners and the more experienced player. His commentaries have been extremely well received by our readers and he is now a regular unmissable feature of our web-site. We look forward to reading this book when published as will many of our satisfied customers.”

Hmm Golfumentary? That’s actually a pretty good idea to present the advertisement in the form of non-commercial content. That’s how social media and video advertising on sites like Adwido should be carried out.
